DETAILS

  • 9star consists of 9 LED's; wired in series/ parallel circuit (3/3) potted with epoxy in stainless steel housing
  • Current draw: 32 mA @ 12 VDC 44 mA@ 13 VDC
  • Life expectancy of LED can be up to 100,000 hours
  • The stainless housing has an OD of 1" and a length of 1.75 inches
  • This LED light is ideal for applications requiring a fair amount of light: porches, walk ways, balconies, tall trees and large expanses of landscape.
  • The Fixture is waterproof and submersible.

  • Housing machined from solid bar of 316 stainless steel.
  • Requiring 12 VDC and with low power consumption, this LED light is ideally suited for battery and solar power supplies. A small 110 VAC to 12 VDC transformer may also be used. A 500 milli-amp transformer will power 10 of these lights at a household consumption of less than 10 watts
  • With a 24 VDC power supply, two of these lights may be wired in series.
  • If the power supply is 12 VAC as many low voltage landscape lighting power supplies are, it is recommended that an inexpensive bridge rectifier is placed in the circuit ahead of any LED lights. See Power Supply Tips.
  • Note: although the LEDs generate negligible heat, the current limiting resistors used in the circuits do generate some heat. In the case of the 9star, containing three resistors, enough heat is generated to cause the stainless housing to be warm to the touch (typically 100 to 110 degrees F). This should be taken into consideration if the 9star is placed in contact with delicate materials or plants.

  • Luminous Intensity - 12 to 19.8 (11.6 - 14.6 VDC) cd Approximately equivalent to a 10 to 15 watt incandescent bulb (This light puts out a bright white light with a hint of blue; much like moonlight).
