DETAILS

  • The NewBeam LED Module comes as a retrofit kit for use with current model AA MINI MAGLITE¨ flashlights. The kit consists of the NewBeam LED Module, an adapter ring which replaces the original reflector, and a replacement abrasion-resistant lens. Instructions are included with the kit, and assembly takes only a few minutes. No tools required.
  • Battery life is double that with the original incandescent bulb. Typical battery life is around 10 hours at full brilliance. The original incandescent runs the batteries down in 3-5 hours and is fully bright only for a short time.
  • The Newbeam LED module will last hundreds of times longer than the original or replacement incandescent bulb. The LED's lifetime is thousands of hours (compared to less than 15 hours for the bulb).
  • The beam pattern is a bright, consistent fixed-focus beam.
  • The NewBeam LED module is highly shock-resistant and will not fail or burn out with normal accidental drops. The NewBeam will be there when you need it.
  • The light output of the NewBeam LED module maintains a perfectly constant level for almost all of the batteries' useful life. It does not dim as the batteries run down. Near the very end of the batteries' life, the NewBeam turns on a red indicator LED which signals when it's time to replace the batteries. The NewBeam will then continue to produce useful but diminishing light for 5-15 hrs. (The NewBeam LED module will often provide light with batteries too weak to give any light from the original incandescent bulb.) The graph below shows the light intensity of the NewBeam compared to the original bulb over the life of a set of typical batteries.

  • NOTE: Make sure you have the compatable Maglight AA flashlight. Unscrew flashlight head until it comes off. The bulb will be lit. Do not remove batteries. Remove the bulb by gently pulling it out with your fingers. If the black plastic piece from which you removed the bulb has two holes beside the holes where the bulb came out, you have an older flashlight. To use the NewBeam LED module, you need to purchase a new Mini Maglite.
